Internship Program
ICCROM
Purpose
- Support international projects at the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) and provide opportunities to interact with heritage experts worldwide.
- Offer opportunities for acquiring local language skills, cultural experiences, and academic development.
Selection Overview
- Number of candidates to be selected: 1 person
- Dispatch period: First half of the 2024 academic year (March to August 2024)
- Eligibility : Must be a current graduate student enrolled at our university who meets the following criteria
Application Requirements
- Possess one or more of the following language proficiency scores required for international work (official English test scores must be issued within 2 years prior to the application deadline)
- TOEIC: 850 or higher, TOEFL iBT: 91 or higher, TEPS: 650 or higher, New TEPS: 355 or higher, IELTS: 6.5 or higher
- Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher for completed semesters
- For new students, a GPA of 3.0 or higher in undergraduate studies
- No disciplinary actions or academic warnings under the university’s regulations
- No legal restrictions on overseas travel, such as those under military service law or other relevant laws
- Selection Priorities:
- 1.Foreign language proficiency
- 2.Academic performance
- 3.Basic knowledge related to World Heritage
- ※ The final decision on the selected intern will be made by ICCROM (even if the university recommends candidates, ICCROM’s decision is final, and dispatch may not be possible depending on circumstances).
- ※ Dispatch to Rome, Italy (where ICCROM headquarters are located) may be restricted depending on the local situation.
Support Details
Provided by ICCROM: Monthly stipend of €500 for 3 months (standard for all interns)
Support from the University (Cannot be combined — choose one option)
- 1) Professional Research Program
- Final selected students must check their schedule with the university’s Career Development Center and apply directly.
- Must align with the academic calendar; credit recognition is possible.
- Apply as a 16-week semester-based professional research program.
- Airfare support: KRW 2,000,000
- Monthly stipend during overseas training: KRW 720,000
- 2) Global Talent Development Support Program
- Final selected students must confirm their schedule with the International Cultural Heritage Education Center and apply directly.
- (For 2024 interns, student application is expected in Jan–Feb; final selection in March)
- Must be based on overseas internship; credit recognition is not available.
- Airfare support: KRW 1,500,000
- Monthly living stipend: KRW 600,000 for 3 months

Center for Korean Studies, University of Hawai’i at Mānoa
Purpose
- To support the operations of the Korean Studies Center at the University of Hawaiʻi and provide opportunities for exchange with Korean Studies experts.
- To offer experiences in local language acquisition, cultural immersion, and academic development.
Selection Overview
- Number of Participants: 1 person
- Dispatch Period: Second half of the 2025 academic year (August to December 2025)
- Eligibility : Current undergraduate or graduate students of this university who meet the application requirements

Application Requirements
- Applicants must meet at least one of the following language proficiency requirements to be eligible for international duties(Official English test scores must be issued within two years of the application deadline
- TOEIC: 850 or higher, TOEFL iBT: 91 or higher, TEPS: 650 or higher, New TEPS: 355 or higher, IELTS: 6.5 or higher
- Additional requirements:
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least three semesters
- GPA of 3.0 or higher for all completed semesters
- No record of disciplinary action or academic probation under university regulations
- No restrictions on overseas travel due to military service law or other legal reasons
- Must be able to provide financial proof of support for a U.S. J-1 visa application (at least KRW 15,000,000)

- ※ Final selection of interns will be made by the Korean Studies Center. Even if candidates are recommended by the university, the final decision rests with the Center and dispatch may not be possible depending on circumstances.

- KRW 6,000,000 scholarship provided through the Smilegate Endowment for Overseas Cultural Heritage Institution Internships
