Overseas Seasonal Semester Program by the Korea Foundation for Study Abroad

Purpose

  • Through the U.S.-based study abroad foundation SAF-IES Abroad, students are offered the opportunity to take cultural heritage-related courses during the summer seasonal semester in Paris, France, alongside American university students
  • This program provides a platform for language acquisition, cultural immersion, and academic development, supporting students in growing as globally competent individuals.

  • Eligibility for Selection
    • Who can apply: Current students and students on a leave of absence who meet the application requirements and are able to pay the participation fee (see Attachment 2 for details).
    • Application Requirements
      • Must have earned at least 36 credits and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher from completed semesters
      • Must meet the language proficiency requirements
      • Must have no record of disciplinary action or academic probation under the university’s regulations
      • Must have no restrictions on overseas travel under the Military Service Act or other relevant laws
  • If the number of applicants exceeds the available spots, selection will be prioritized in the following order:
    • 1. Foreign language test scores 2. Academic performance (GPA) 3. Students with earlier admission years (lower student ID numbers)

    • Article 11 of the Regulations on Student Exchange and Credit Recognition at Korea National University of Cultural Heritage
    • ※ Students must consult with their academic advisor before registering for courses to ensure credit transfer eligibility.
  • Global Talent Development Support Program * Students who are finally selected must confirm the schedule with the K-Heritage International Center and apply directly.
    • Flight reimbursement: Up to KRW 1,500,000 (actual cost basis)
    • Activity support: KRW 500,000
